February 2011
just got my micro quiz/homework back.
i am tired of these mediocre grades and being satisfied with just settling for what is. i can change things, damn it. this is the one thing in my life that i actually have complete and total control over.
i have decided i am going to ACE all of my midterm exams.
(let’s hope i don’t eat these words. i just want to win in the end.)
I miss you.

and still SOMEHOW find some way to take these completely unrelated concepts out of context and apply them to the cruel joke that is my life.
i.e.:
Positive Economics: “objective”-based. devoid of all personal judgement. “what is.” Normative Economics: “subjective and objective”-based. own projected value system. personal opinion is involved. “what should...

Please stop pretending that you don’t know what a flick of your hair or wearing extremely short skirts/shorts or low-necks does to us men. It’s basic sexual attraction. So stop pretending to be creeped out when 1. a guy makes an advance on you and 2. looks at your cleavage. It really is only natural and you bloody well know it. It only...

I cant sleep Cause it hurts when I think My thoughts aren’t at peace With the plans that we make Chances we take They’re, not yours and not mine There’s waves that can break All the words that we say And the words that we mean Words can fall short Can’t see the unseen Cause the world is awake For somebody’s...

i knew it all along.
but heart-to-hearts still make me feel better…i usually hate being such a girl about things and admitting/rambling about how vulnerable i actually am about everything, but they honestly provide me with encouraging words instead of leaving me with my own destructive thoughts.
in the meantime, all of these realizations that i’ve been making have helped me finally figure things out.

it’s been a slow night. but whatever, i don’t mind chilling and my roommate is sick anyway and in drunken hungover terms, i have to wake up at the asscrack of dawn (like from 8am-10am tomm morning, it really depends what time i can actually become conscious tomm morning) tomorrow because i want to spend the afternoon with my parents who i miss a ton and just want to have some quality...

going home tomorrow for the afternoon, but other than the whole “walking through the bronx still hungover from last night, then take the D to Penn, then wait for the NJ transit to announce the track i have to get on, then take a 45 minute train ride home, and finally arrive in good ol’ pway” deal…i’m pretty sure i’ll be like this all...

I think the internet makes moving on from these relationships that much harder. I see our generation as totally lacking in the self-control department. Or maybe that’s just me. Regardless, when we first meet someone we are connected to them on every platform: text, facebook, twitter, blog, skype, email, etc. It’s because you want to talk to them all the time, you can’t get enough of...

What’s intriguing to me about Helen and Diana is that there was a moment—either a literal moment, or a prolonged one spanning an indeterminate amount of time—when they returned to their boyfriends while feeling more strongly about another man. It’s that moment that I, the anti-pragmatist, can’t figure out. How could they go...
why are the best songs titled "i want you"?
maybe i’m subliminally mind-fucking myself, but the songs that i’ve been listening to lately have all been about wanting someone (three songs i can name off the top of my head on my most current on-the-go playlist has “i want you” by kings of leon, “i want you” by third eye blind, and “i want you now” by big sugar). not to mention, most of the black...
